Welcome to the Montana Urban and Community Forestry Association website. MUCFA is a 501 (C) 3 organization with a mission to:
To assist and advise the DNRC on UCF program
To promote and encourage public awareness, education, and volunteerism
To cultivate cooperation among agencies, groups, and individuals
To advise the people of Montana and local, state, and federal officials on urban forestry issues and concerns
Encourage and promote planting, maintenance, and management of trees in municipalities and counties within Montana according to industry standards
Solicit funds for, and promote, association projects and activities
The Montana Urban and Community Forestry Association encourages and promotes management, expansion and improvement of community forestry programs for the benefit of the citizens of Montana.
The association advises the State Forester on the direction of the Montana Urban Forestry Program. Together they work to promote public awareness and education of community forestry and its benefits; advise the people of Montana on community forestry issues and concerns; and encourages the planting, maintenance and management of vegetation in municipalities and counties within Montana.
The association is made up of representatives from various agencies, nonprofits, industries, tree board members and volunteers throughout the state.
