What are the duties of a forester?

Foresters. Foresters oversee forest land, manage budgets, create plans for forestry projects, and supervise forest and conservation technicians and workers. In addition, foresters ensure that forest crew activities comply with government regulations.

What are the duties of a State Forester?

They conserve, enhance, and protect state and private forests, which encompass nearly two-thirds of the nation's forests, and are responsible for wildfire protection on more than 1.5 billion acres.

Sonya Germann was selected to advocate on behalf of Montanans with a commitment to finding solutions on the forest health crisis.

Germann has worked with the Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation for 12 years. She is currently the Forestry Division Administrator and oversees DNRC's largest division.
